Life of the Mind 2011 Response
In 2011, all first-year students read and submitted a response to The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. In this book, New York Times best-selling author and investigative journalist Rebecca Skloot tells the story of an African American woman whose immortal cells changed the face of science, exploring issues from research in medicine and science to racism, ethics, politics, and socio-economic divides.
